IHES Gr. 6 GPS Experience

Hi Grade 6! I hear that you are still working on using the images you took last week when we used the GPS's. That's great, 'cause I was hoping you'd have time to let me know what you thought of our activity. I'd really appreciate it if you could try to answer the questions below.

  1. What was your favorite part of the day?
  2. Were you learning new things during your favorite part of the day or were you using ideas and skills you learned earlier?
  3. How did you and your partners manage to share jobs during the Amazing Race?
  4. What other things could you use a GPS for?
  5. Could you teach someone else how to use a GPS?

PS.- Did you get to see the pictures I took of many of you last week?

IHHS Gr. 9 GPS Experience

Hey there Grade 9's! I hope everyone has warmed up and you have had a chance to think about all the stuff we did with the GPS receivers. One thing we didn't get to do was have a discussion about how the day went, so here's a few questions that your class may discuss or you may answer yourselves on this blog. I hope to work with you all again soon!

Mr. I

  1. What was your favorite part of the day? What made that part of the day so good?

  2. Was there part of the day that could have been better? How could it have been better?

  3. Do you think you could teach someone to use a Magellan GPS receiver now?

  4. Do you think you could use a different brand or type of GPS receiver now?

  5. What would be a cool place to explore with a GPS receiver? How would a GPS receiver help you explore this place?
